San Antonio Spurs: Victor Wembanyama Gets Stunning Career Prediction From Rising NBA Star
Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

After experiencing NBA basketball for an entire season, San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama showed everyone that he has what it takes to become a force in the league — if he isn’t one already. Many doubted whether Wembanyama could handle the league in his rookie season, but even his naysayers before the 2023-24 NBA season are now speaking highly of the French youngster, including fellow rookie and Memphis Grizzlies up-and-comer GG Jackson.

In fact, Jackson thinks that Wemby will one day be viewed as the GOAT or the greatest player of all time.

San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama Gets His Flowers From GG Jackson

Here’s what Jackson said of Wembanyama during a recent interview on FanDuels’ Run it Back (h/t Beale St. Bears).

“This is very, very biased, but, to me, he’s going to be the greatest player to ever play this game in my opinion… I was a hater when he came in. I was like ‘He’s not too strong, what does he do against bigger bigs?’ He just blows by them. I said his handle wasn’t that great and they gonna poke it. He’s doing shamgods from the three-point line and then goes to the layup. I said he couldn’t shoot that good and [he’s doing] fastbreak transitions, pulling up from volleyball lines. He literally has everything. The only thing that can stop him is himself.”

It is still too early to tell what kind of career exactly Wembanyama will have in the NBA, but the signs are already there that he will dominate the league soon.  He won the 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year award and also finished second in the 2023-24 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award voting.
