Ex-NFL Player Hits Kevin Durant With Harsh Assessment After Phoenix Suns’ 2024 Playoffs Exit
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns have been receiving non-stop flak for getting swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Turns out, even former NFL star Emmanuel Acho has given his take on the unfortunate turn of events for the two-time NBA champion and his team.

In Game 4 of their first round series, Minnesota went home with the 122-116 dub over the Suns. Anthony Edwards put on an insane performance when he dropped 40 points on 56 shooting from the field, nine rebounds, and six assists. Karl-Anthony Towns dominated on both ends of the floor by posting 28 points and 10 rebounds. Jaden McDaniels added 18 points to help close out the series right in front of the Suns’ home crowd.

For his part, Devin Booker led Phoenix when he tallied 49 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Kevin Durant shot 70 percent from the field to finish the game with 33 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Meanwhile, Bradley Beal failed to live up to his massive contract when he ended the night with only nine points.

The win has now positioned Edwards and the Timberwolves to face a Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets team in the next round. The Suns, on the other hand, are left with an offseason full of questions on how to improve their roster without having any draft picks or trade assets outside of Booker and Durant to use.

Former NFL Star Emmanuel Acho Blasts Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant for Getting Swept in the Playoffs

After the game, various personalities have given their take on the Suns getting swept in this year’s playoffs. Among those who have spoken out is former NFL star Emmanuel Acho, as seen in a video shared by Speak on X:

Acho’s opinion may ruffle some feathers, especially those who followed Durant’s dominant two championship runs with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Of course, the former NFL star’s take holds true for his stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns.

Durant will now face an offseason full of questions about his future in Phoenix. With coaching issues, massive contracts, and the lack of possible moves, it looks like the two-time NBA champion’s woes is just getting started.
