The New York Giants could attack the quarterback position in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. If they choose to go offensive line or pass catcher, though, QB could be a target on day two.

The Giants have reported interest in one signal caller with intriguing upside for a projected round 3-4 selection.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Giants have shown interest in South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler.

Rattler was a five-star prospect entering college football. His athletic traits are some of the best you can ask for in a QB prospect entering the pros, but his decision-making, technique, and smaller size are concerns.

Today's NFL quarterback is expected to make swift decisions, possess a dual-threat capability, and demonstrate a rapid release. Rattler certainly impresses with his release and innate accuracy. However, when juxtaposed with these modern expectations, some facets of his game fall short. His stature and limited athleticism further compound these challenges.

Rattler remains an enigma in the 2024 NFL Draft discussions. His raw ability hints at a first-round pick, but gameplay inconsistencies beg to differ...

There is no doubt that Rattler has the requisite physical tools to be a star at the next level but it's difficult to give a top grade to a prospect whose best football was played more than three years ago. While many pro teams view him as having first-round upside (which he undoubtedly does), most teams will be looking at him as a prospect with too many inconsistencies to take any higher than the third round.

Overall, Rattler is a home run swing in a point in the draft where many picks are looked at was hopeful "singles" for the team picking the prospect. Don't be shocked if he's the pick at number 70 overall.
