In tumultuous times, leadership is of the utmost importance.
Michigan State football is coming off a lopsided loss to No. 8 Washington, but looking to get back on track and start Big Ten Conference play right this afternoon against Maryland.
There will be a trio of familiar names leading the Spartans into battle against the Terrapins, as MSU has named wide receiver Tre Mosley, offensive lineman J.D. Duplain and defensive lineman Simeon Barrow as team captains.
Mosley and Barrow have been named captain in all four weeks of the season thus far, and it can be safely assumed that they are the leaders of the offense and defense, respectively.
Mosley leads Michigan State in receptions (11), is third on the team in receiving yards (144) and has a receiving touchdown this season. Barrow, meanwhile, has tallied five tackles and 1.5 sacks as part of the Spartans deep rotation of defensive tackles.
Experience is the theme for all three of these guys; Duplain has played in 45 career games, making 38 starts; Mosley has played in 39 career games with 24 starts; and Barrow has played in 25 career games with 23 starts.
Kickoff for Michigan State vs. Maryland is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (ET) with NBC carrying the broadcast.
